The heart of green Styria
City Graz
Graz, the heart of Styria and capital of “green Styria,” combines urban flair with southern ease. Nestled between rolling hills, vineyards, and a mild climate, the city exudes its own unique charm. The historic old town—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—invites visitors to stroll through its narrow streets, admire its baroque facades, and relax in its cozy squares. High above the rooftops towers the famous clock tower, the city’s landmark, which has welcomed visitors for centuries. Just a few steps away are modern architectural highlights that make Graz a lively mix of history and innovation.
Graz is also a city of creative, inquisitive, and discerning people. The design district around the Kunsthaus, exciting galleries, and small manufacturers showcase the innovative character of the city. The diverse educational landscape—with universities, technical colleges, training centers, the Graz Exhibition Center, and numerous congresses and conferences—makes Graz an important center for knowledge, research, and international encounters. The large number of students gives the city a young, cosmopolitan and lively atmosphere.
Whether you’re looking for cultural enjoyment, culinary discoveries, or relaxing moments in nature, Graz has something for everyone. Its proximity to the wine regions of southern Styria also makes the city an ideal starting point for connoisseurs. Numerous cafés, traditional inns, and international restaurants characterize the hospitable lifestyle. Museums, markets, and events provide variety throughout the year.
Graz is a place where you immediately feel welcome – and which invites you to discover something new again and again.
